Saratoga County Animal Shelter

Volunteer

“You make a living by what you get. You make a life by what you give.”
~Winston Churchill

There are many volunteer opportunities at the Animal Shelter. You’ll be able to spend time with cats or dogs while they eagerly await finding their “furever” home. Through the Shelter’s enrichment programs, volunteers can help animals socialize and get some fun time each day. Volunteers also help shelter staff ensure that the living environment for the animals in our care is safe and clean. We are expanding opportunities for volunteers to use a variety of skills…

Reading Rooms

This program allows you to read to and relax with some of the shy cats that are learning to be around people. Getting used to people and hearing human voices is an important next step for undersocialized cats to feel comfortable in a real home!
